I am pleased to announce that the charity SANE has read the manuscript for DABHD and are so impressed they are going to endorse it with a foreword and their logo. They are also working on getting a quote for the front cover from one of the many celebrities they work with.
Established in 1986, SANE’s vision is to raise public awareness, excite research, and bring more effective professional treatment and compassionate care to everyone affected by mental illness.
To celebrate SANE’s 25th anniversary the Black Dog Campaign was started and it will culminate this year with an auction of the sculptures to raise funds. SANE hopes that the Black Dogs will continue to communicate a message of hope beyond the anniversary with the profile of the charity and the campaign maintained in the media and by the celebrities that support it. These include Rory Bremner, Beverly Knight, Ruby Wax, Judith Owen, KT Tunstall and Stephen Fry.
Although contributors to the book can nominate a mental health charity to receive a donation from the monies raised by the book (all of which will be featured on this site) it is hoped that a significant sum can be raised for SANE whose small team have taken the time to help with the publication.
